The Game has been arrested after a video was posted online appearing to show him punching an off-duty police officer. The incident happened at a basketball match back in March. The 35-year-old hip-hop artist posted $50,000 (£32,700) bail. Game, whose real name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor, surrendered at Los Angeles Police Department's Hollywood Division at noon on Monday. It's thought he was part of a pick-up basketball match, which is a game usually started spontaneously by a group of players without formal rules and regulations. LA police officer Mike Lopez says the performer was booked on suspicion of making criminal threats.
Before the rapper handed himself in, he posted a picture on Instagram with the caption, "relaxing in the sauna before I turn myself in... But what you gone do when you get outta jail... I'm gonna have some fun.. 1st". The Game spent less than an hour in police custody. Shortly after his release on Monday the rapper uploaded a picture on Instagram appearing to show him outside the police department with the caption "Waiting on my uber". The rapper from California is one of Dr. Dre's most notable protégés. His album The Documentary went double platinum in 2005 and it has sold more than five million copies worldwide. In March, The Game announced that The Documentary 2 will be released on June 30 2015.
