Future has promised that the best legal assistance will be given to his teenage son, Jakobi Wilburn, who was arrested last month. The 17-year-old was charged with criminal gang activity, criminal trespass and the altered ID of a firearm after he was allegedly found in possession of a gun with the serial number scratched out.
According to Wilburn's mother, she and Future are working tirelessly to sort out the situation. “Our son is a minor and to protect his well being in this trying situation,” she said. “We ask that everyone please respect our privacy at this time.”
If convicted, Wilburn could face ample amounts of prison time. The gang activity alone could warrant 20 years behind bars. Although Wilburn is a minor, Georgia law dictates 17-year-olds are to be tried as adults.
