fbpx Five States Still Account for 60% of Cumulative COVID-19 Cases in Nigeria- PTF | The Beat 99.9 FM

Worried about the growing numbers of Covid-19 cases in the country, the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 today said five (5) States still account for 60% of cumulative cases while 85 Local Government Areas in 20 States in Nigeria still remain with no testing done and no positive cases recorded.

 

The PTF Chairman and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha who disclosed this at the daily briefing in Abuja said testing is being ramped up per million while it's not ruling out infection spread to all 774 local governments of the federation.

 

During the briefing, the Minister of Health Dr. Osagie Ehanire noted that the National Council on Health (NCH), has approved the revised Guidelines for the Administration, Disbursement, and Monitoring of the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund (BHCPF) aimed at correcting anomalies in the 2018 Operations Manual and the process of disbursement of the fund.

 

Our correspondent Nathan Williams reports that the National Coordinator of the presidential task force (PTF) on COVID-19 Sani Aliyu, however reiterated some of the guidelines aimed at curbing the spread of the coronavirus diseases in the country.
