The Lagos State Government has announced that transition classes of Senior Secondary School three known as SS Three, and Technical class Three are to resume for revision preparatory for their examination from the 3rd of August, 2020, while Junior Secondary school three known as JSS Three will resume one or two weeks after resumption of the upper class.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu made this known today at the COVID-19 briefing update at the Lagos House, Marina. The Governor explained that primary six pupils who are also to transition to secondary school would be promoted on continuous assessment basis. Governor Sanwo-Olu directed that the affected students should only be in school as day students and directed management of schools to begin to put precautionary measures in line with Covid-19 protocols in place to ensure the safety of the students
While reeling out few moderations to the gradual ease of lockdown, barbing and hairdressing saloons are to open only on appointment basis, while sporting centres in residential areas only are to open. The Governor who explained that earlier protocols on ease of lock down still subsists, warned that law enforcement agents have been direct to arrest those who have not been donning face masks and charge them to court.
Governor Sanwo-Olu however clarified that a lone occupant of a vehicle is not at risk of infecting anyone and law enforcement agents should not be over zealous in enforcing the rule in that regard. Governor Sanwo-Olu who reiterated that the seven accredited laboratories are for those who need COVID-19 compliance certificate which would come at a fee warned that any unaccredited laboratory conducting Covid-19 tests would be sanctioned.
Our Correspondent Immanuel Odeyemi quotes the Governor as appealing to residents to continue to abide by all the advisories, as the fight against COVID19 is still far from being won in Lagos.
